It is pretty easy to beat your competition

This month I have been busy traveling around the country with speaking engagements. (Can you say “frequent flyer miles”?)

At each event, I get to speak with a lot of small business owners and have noticed a trend.

Successful business owners seek opportunities to develop a competitive advantage over their peers.  (Tweet this!). They are always on the hunt for that one thing they can put in practice today to shift action of their target market.

The secret is…it is relatively easy to do.

Take Facebook for example…sharing other people’s content is what most do.  But successful marketers use this channel as an opportunity to set themselves apart as the industry expert, sharing original content.  Leveraging a competitive advantage means moving a few steps outside of what is the norm and the results are incredible.

As inspiration, here are a few places you can get started…

Your competitors won’t take that extra step due to ignorance, laziness or lack of focus. But you can. Make it a goal to launch at least one and start to track the difference it makes in your business.

Best,
